Message No they are not the same (at least on most units)
The EBC is the part that is unit that is typically mounted in the cabin...this unit is what controllers the stepper motor in the engine bay.

I wired mine up to cut power to the EBC...this serves two purposes:

1) It cut my boost
2) It kept me having to put an additional light on my dash letting me know that my safe injection had turned on. If my EBC powers off then I know my safe injection turned on.


So I only have one light now for my water injection and it only comes on when the unit is actually spraying. I think its cleaner this way.

Whenever the boost controllers power is cut your system will fall back to whatever PSI the waste gates are set at. So assuming that you waste gates aren't clocked to 20PSI you have something wired incorrectly.
